April 2012 - After a long hiatus, ecarlsen.com is finally seeing some updates. I've got my sights set on a major design overhaul in the coming months, which will include some of the new work I've done over the past couple years, but here's some news in the meantime:

I've been working full-time at Northern Light Productions in Boston since June 2010, where I am a Motion Graphics and Animation Designer. Recent NLP projects I've worked on (some still in development) include the Mob Museum, United States Mint, Mt. Greylock State Reservation, and the Boston Tea Party Museum, with a lot of exciting new projects coming up.

I'm also doing freelance on the side, recently including photo animations for "Give Me the Banjo" which aired on nationwide PBS on November 4th, 2011, directed by Marc Fields and edited by Tim Raycroft, and narrated by Steve Martin.

Another freelance project was an animation for letterbanc.com, which is now live! Watch the animation here and please spread th word to drum up support for this promising new company. Many many thanks to my talented crew: John Hawthorn (audio production/featured dude in the animation!), Kevin Ruttan (voice artist), Duncan Manning (photography), and Joey O'Neil (audio production). I was responsible for direction, design and animations (save for the city background graphic, provided by Letterbanc) and created the soundtrack with GarageBand.
